A Walk in the Country

photo of an island copse in somerset

Fitting for the time, it is rumored that this island copse of trees with a moat all around was where the village buried their dead during the plague. I'm not sure its true but an interesting grim concept.

Under lockdown I have discovered what's around me in every direction. Its been so beautiful in the Somerset countryside, I don't want to get back to normal. These were taken over a few different walks in April where we were very glad to have moved back home with my parents earlier in the year.

Lantern Parade Wells Somerset

The first lantern parade in Wells, Somerset. January 2019.
In the rain, it was magical as one by one these beautiful paper lanterns arrived in the pitch black darkness of the park. The drums started and the procession bobbed along to the Cathedral. One of the most simple and effective treats to see in Winter and I look forward to 2019s lantern parade in Wells.

December 2018 Journey to Work Somerset

It was a sunny foggy morning on my drive to work and the pastel colours against the black of the trees were so beautiful.
On the most in Wells the mist was rising from the water, I wish every morning could be cold and crisp and this lovely.

I should be excited about all types of weather and try to capture it with my camera learning new techniques along the way.
